Yes a very low Lancaster note the Mid-Upper having a gecko as they wiz by not sure as to the vintage nor the Lancaster.
The motif does not resemble the City of Lincoln anyway will let the buffs decide to me this is pretty good stuff :clap::D

PostScript~ I did notice that the upper the taboo fairing may be missing they had from what I remember and not wanting to scrounge for the pic small rods that came down as the weapons depressed in line with any structure like tail fins-cockpit-wings etc to stop the fire from damaging the aircraft.
But the dark earth camo paint may disguise it what do others think!

I have never seen a Lancaster in person. I've been in the Confederate Air Force over fifteen years and been to many, many air shows but Lancaster's are rare. I've heard P-51 Mustangs and Spitfires screammin their single RR Merlin motors, and always wonder how a Lancaster with four RR Merlin's would sound!

Me too! I built about every WWII aircraft model available growing up, and got good at it after learning how to use an airbrush, etc.
My Lancaster was the the Revel "Dam-buster" with the spinning drum explosive held beneath the fusalage/bombay doors.

Went the the AWM and saw G-George one of the few 100 mission Lancasters to remain in the world awesome plane no doubt my father (WWII LAC Engine Fitter) in his travels may have worked on one but I have always thought the Libs-B-17 etc would have covered the Pacific region I know he did work on the Spitfires.
But to see one up close it really is emotional and to me I think of young lads night after night going in to places like the Ruhr valley and facing flak and night fighters the unflinching courage and sheer will power in believing in the right stuff for humanity.
It was always Point Blanks aim to bomb the civilians and demoralize the population, Dresden and Hamburg did that very well but to be at night and spinning out of control on fire in the back of your mind, no that is a different kind of valor though I also respect the suffering of the B-17's crews especially Schweinfurt.
They had a saying for the rear gunner on a Lanc and a book was written from memory here guys (A bit fuzzy now) called I think "Three Seconds To Live"

They are loud. Much like a B 17. I had to work an air show in England in 1971 and they had one there. The largest plane at the show wasn't even the C5 Galaxy. (747) it the British Vulcan bomber. That was a big airplane.

When I was a kid they had a grand opening airshow for the D/FW International Airport and they had a Vulcan bomber flying there. Awesome looking aircraft!

I saw the Vulcan once a year at the Chicago Airshow until it crashed at Glenview Naval Airbase in 1977. I have seen the B-52 take-off and land but the Vulcan was really something to view on take-off and landing.

VERY Nice model kit RCS! We are all the same... Even some of the BEST vintage pilots and current pilots are all the same...
We all love vintage aviation the same all over the place.

I have a few photos I took of the Vulcan Bomber taking off and another photo of it streaking by from that air show that are over at at my Mom's old house and I'll try to find them... Mom died last month and her 'new' husband occupies her house now. (It sucks)

The Vulcan made our B-52's look like ancient WWII planes from the past.... It is a pity how the Vulcan's were grounded, etc, but still, the B-52's are a front-line bomber after all this time. The Vulcan's were Nuclear Bombers from Britain... The B-52's are amazing to even still be able to be airworthy today, but they still keep flying after all these years of up-dates, rebuilds, etc... Most all B-52 airframes are sixty years old or older, but they are still flying as front-line bombers and they STILL instill most or the real damage in American Bombing missions over the past 40 years!

They also had an early (British Made) US Marine Harrier at the D/FW opening's air show that did a demo of it's capabilities. He even flew it backwards in the demo. My dad was a pilot, businessman at the time and the Marine Harrier pilot stayed with us in my Dad's house for several days in the guest bedroom while the shows were going on that long weekend. I was young, but I knew it was special. I could easily see the caliber of Marine pilots even when I was a kid... He was nice, humble, etc, guy, but he was a genius pilot during the air show. It seems so unreal he sat with us at our house, eating breakfast early in the morning, and he told my dad and me about difficult it is flying the Harrier when hovering. He said it was a real handful to maneuver in the vertical mode. When I watched him at the shows, it was hard to believe the pilot that I just talked to was the quiet, unassuming, Marine pilot who was staying at our house that week. Pretty cool....

Harlan, there was a website that showed how many Vulcans are still in the UK and groups that have done restoration work on these aircraft. One of them is able to taxi on the ground but not allowed to fly - really interesting website.

The Vulcans were used in the Falkland Island war, very interesting reading too

The Vulcan was one of three makes of the V Bombers - Valiant, Victor and Vulcan. The Vulcan and Victor - both beautifully graceful birds even on the ground, were the longest serving. As memory serves, at least one Victor soldiered on through the Gulf War as a tanker for RAF strike aircraft going in and out of Iraq.

Thanks a ton Paul and Robert. I have been into aviation since I was a little kid and the Vulcan was about the coolest aircraft I ever saw flying.
