It's an early stock, not a pot belly...don't know if it's real though.
Type IV I believe :)
Thanks ; I know about early m2 type IV Inland stocks. To me an early Inland stock was a Type I. Never heard of L-A except 'Ca.' I was thinking non GI. GK
Now you are teasing us. You commented on an LA stock back in Sept 2012.
Early Inland Value - Stock Restore
OK; so I forgot that one! But where is the LA on that stock? I thought that was I A. GK
Hmm, super long barrel channel with type two and/or band marks on it makes it pretty fake in my book. The LA marking was pretty early in production and not used that much.
Thank you. Even us old farts learn new things! GK
I was thinking maybe a "replacement" stock, but guess anyone could have applied rack numbers to the grip. The milling pattern at the back below the recoil shelf area may be a clue?? - Bob
The only L-A stocks that I've ever seen were I-cuts!
And used on very early production only.
I had an oval-cut 'LA' but the layout of the markings in the sling well on the 'LAs' is always the same and very different than the OP's. The LA was stamped vertically down at the end of the ramp. There was also a small Ordnance bomb and 'IO' in the usual place, IIRC. I really have no idea what 'L-A' indicates on the OP's stock, but it is not an early Inland stock.
I"ll agree with the above. I've seen the same sort of example in the Korean stocks that came back last year.
