What is the mark or logo on the back of the shirts of the two Marines pulling the POW out of his hole?
I reckon he is lucky to be coming out of that spider hole alive........
Attachment 63350 I think it's the unit...
What I love about that is all the muzzle awareness (much discussed with previous WWII photos). One bloke has his carbine pointed at the officer's groin and another has his carbine pointed at another bloke's bum.
Also looks to be an "M" in the half circle. Imagine if this scenario were on the other foot. An American Marine would not have fared as well.
Perhaps "Mike" coy of whatever... The conjecture here of where the muzzles are pointing during combat is always silly. People applying range rules. If it's on safe I'm fine with it. Been there, done that.
Just recently the close quarter battle schools in North America have stopped with shifting muzzles around when you're moving in combat. They tell you "You're in combat, get used to it". That's a fact.
A scene in SPR always struck me as odd when they're walking and pvt Opum (SP) is demonstrating horrible muzzle control and the medic comments as such. That just didn't fit in and I rather doubt it would have been a big deal back then.
That one's always been a thorn when I watch that movie.
I hated the guy.
Me too!!!
At camp Perry if one of our group is lagging behind a hearty Upham hussle up!
will get the job done
