Recent finds from digging in the Uk

Hi All

Thought I would share with you some of the recent finds made at sites across the UK. Some of them are rather unusual to say the least, not necessarily because of what they are, but because of where they were found! I will limit this post to 'army' related items, as I do do a lot of digging on old airfields as well, and have quite a collection of aircraft parts.

Lots of Kerr stuff and scabbards for the Savage bayonets...one early Springfield nickel oiler. Bore examiner, starter tabs for various belts of early and late types. 36 pattern buckles...and strap ends...

Indeed, but can you identify the two items in the last picture? :) :)

Why not post a link to your video of these relics being freshly dug, we love pictures and videos. ;)

Mk 2 winding arm for a Bren 100 round magazine, (the piece with the 'arm') and the winding gear off the top of a Bren 100 round mag.

The drums I've seen...but not examined as they're so scarce and expensive around here.

Photo 1, thread 1 is the adaptor for the p'14 to take the cup discharger

Indeed it is Peter........an adapter to allow an SMLE grenade discharger cup to be attached to a P14. I have put a post in the P14 forum as, whilst I knew what it was, I can find nothing about them on the net at all. If you have any information about them I would be most grateful. The site has yielded around 10 of these items in the past few months, of which I found 3 of them.
