Good point, no I have not. He was here, then gone for ages and then he returned for a couple of posts...then gone again.
I have been wondering about him too. I saw a pretty Carbine stock in a local gun shop and it made me think of him. I hope everything is OK. Didn't he have some health issues a year or two ago???
I believe he did have some health issues!
I'm genuinely sorry to hear that...
Charlie dropped by last on 04/28/2015.
I remember that. It was like old home day for a minute and then he was gone again.
He does have heath issues plus it's one of the busy times of the year for his business. At one point I think he was also taking care of his wife as she had also been sick.
Then say hi for us Bruce and let him know we were talking about him...in his absence.
I think this may have been his business, if so I didn't know it was closed. I looked this up from an old link I has several years back.
His user name Painter kind of gives it away.

Painter, my answer is out of Que. LOL Hope he is ok he helped me many times. Chris
Speaking of lost folks anyone heard from Mikey or the "hoochiekoochieman". Hi is New Zealand carbine guy. Can't get him to answer my emails.
Marcus your right. Have not heard from Mikey here on the forum for a long time. Hope he is OK and well.

Hopefully he was finally able to retire. My last personal email was about 5 digit Inland's around the time New Zealand was having the earthquakes.
I hope he's doing OK. I haven't spoken to Charlie for a while, but in the past he's explained to me how his work goes. As with all construction, it's feast or famine and Charlie never turns a job down. When he's busy he might have several jobs going at once and he'll put in VERY long days (and nights) for weeks with no break. Charlie told me when he's busy like that he won't even read email for weeks at a time. Workaholic for sure.
Charlie was out for a long period medically a few years back when he was kicked by his horse and it (literally) about killed him.

Greetings Marcus and JimF4 and all my other old friends ! I am alive and have returned. Have had to re-register and go through all the drama/stuff again so am not Mikey51 anymore, I am now Mikey 52. More when time allows. Cheers all. Mike, Wellington, New Zealand.
Thanks for the replies everybody. Good to hear that the man in the Shadows is still active ! I had a guy approach me with #70730XX for some help a few weeks ago. Factory stamped, but with a few missing parts. S. A. barrel. A long way from the 5 digits. Not a great find but I thought I may try and take, then post some pics. We may learn something from it. Is the C.C still up and running ?. Mike.
by "factory stamped" are you referring to the M1 or M2 as opposed to hand stamped?
Yes C.C. still up and running. quick check of published high low numbers shows Inland high number in that block reported as 7,0xx,xxx.
I for one an interested in knowing if this is the new high number.
Factory 2, not handstamped or overstamped. From the block ending in #7,234,883 as I read it.
Welcome back Mike. :super:
Being a M2 it would put it in the middle. 7234012 being the highest?
I don't know about a 7.0730 as a M2 machine stamped. I have 7.090 hand stamp M1. Mikey, I would love to get a picture of the ring. Some where in the early 7.0 Inlands, the ring spacing on the bottom row of letters was changed.
Bubba, Greetings, longtime no speak ! These are pics I took of prints that I was sent in an envelope. I didn't get too excited about this one when I noted it had an S.A barrel however if it is of interest to our group I will, when time allows, post more. Cheers. Mike.
