Didn't have a K31 when this ammo was plentiful.
I've managed to acquire 120 rds at a gun show and obscure Pawn/Gun Shop, averaged .60 a round. I have plenty of PPU that performs fine, but wondered if we will ever see any more GP11.

I doubt it. About 4 years ago I bought a 1979-dated 480-round pack and a lot of 10 packs when it was still being advertised in quantity over here by "the usual suspects". Those packs all went, and I have seen nothing but remainders for at least 2 years. By now, the Swiss army stocks have surely been cleared. It's not coming back.
That's what I was afraid of.
The Gun Show I picked up the 100 rds at was one of many held around N.Alabama/S. Tennessee.
Only one I had been to for a long time.
Seller had the Swiss, and a few boxes of 8.mm surplus. I made an offer, and he took it. Most of the people "buying" at this show, were looking for "commercial arms and ammo".
I plan on attending some more shows, just for this ammo.
Next 20 rds came from a "Mom and Pop" Pawn Shop while visiting my Daughter in Clarksville, TN. They had it on the shelve for over 2 years. They were happy to reduce the price and sell.
Have you had any experience with the PPU?
It seems strange that in Canada we still have the 480 round packs for around $300>$350. I was green with envy what you fellows in the US were paying for HXP .303.
It's not really strange. It just means that in Canada the supplies have not yet been exhausted. But there is no replenishment, i.e. do not imagine that there'll still be any around in a couple of years. Over here, on eGun, the predominant online action, there are just 3 offers of GP11, adding up to less than 500 rounds among the offers of enough 223 ammo to sink a battleship. It really is a case of "Buy now while stocks last".
GP11 is still in country? I am down to 6 rounds, I should probably locate some before it is all gone. I personally expected it to be exhausted by now.
Since the Swiss have their national marksmanship program, I wonder if they will continue to produce and surplus GP11 over the coming years? The last batch I had was headstamped '82 if I remember right.
Hmmmm... I'm pretty sure I have a few crates of this.
I guess I should check, given the apparent scarcity of it.

Doug
Bulk ammo has gp11 in stock
Ammoman has 1000 cases at $299 ea. + shipping.
Just got 2 cases from ammoman. Shipped quick and in good condition.
I read in a German language magazine some months ago that the Swiss stopped manufacture of the GP11 around 1992 on the grounds that the StGw90 had been issued to almost all their troops and that there were still millions of rounds of GP11 in various bunkers. I've seen European made 7.5 Swiss, amongst others Boxer primed Prvi Partizan.
I've got three (3) sealed cases of Swiss Military GP11 in the vault I've been meaning to get out and sell. I never shoot that caliber any longer...

GP11 is everywhere right now. I've seen '82, '83, and '84 dated packaging for $269 and up. I got a case for $300 delivered from Widener and another for $250 delivered from Midway, courtesy of a short-lived discount code.
Grab it up.
The Swiss army still uses 7.5x55mm ammo in their MGs so production will continue although quantity and price will be effected over time.
Ammoman has it on sale right now for $265 including shipping for 480 round case
Thanks Guys! Just ordered a case.
According to the latest issue of Schweizer Waffen-Magazin manufacture of the GP11 has re-started with the new batches being virtually identical to the old stuff. One million rounds have already been made this year.:)
On another site a Swiss man piped in that the Swiss still have around 170,000,000 GP11 cartridges on hand, though a lot of it is time expired. That is down form 700,000,000 that they had on hand in 1997.
If the time expired comment it correct, we can expect to see 1980s dated GP11 sold off onto the surplus market for years to come.
According to SWM the end of the supply was in sight and because of the concerns of various shooters it was decided to re-commence manufacture with a yearly target of 20 million rds, of which 18 million would be for Swiss needs. There was also mention of a sport variation with a softer jacket which RUAG has on offer.
i have out of that and been looking to buy some. been looking for month now. all to no avail.

I bought bulk from Lucky Gunner in late November. Really nice ammo.
I have bought from Lucky Gunner this month, still in stock
I see a good bit of it at the gun shows.
I am sitting on about 8x480rd crates of GP-11 at the moment. I hope that is enough to last me for a life time.
