My interest was piqued by a recent post regarding SKY M39 serial numbers on another forum and I decided to get mine out of the safe and check the s/n. Of course, it was at the back of the safe, so I had to pull out all the other Finns out to get to it.

Yeah...there are a few I'm missing and would really like to have....a Tikka M39 would be great. A straight stock, as you mentioned, would be fantastic also.

Impressed by the oustanding collection of Finns. I am not certain why they have so much appeal for me beyond the fact that an 1891 Finn is where my intrest in milsurps began and a lot of history behind the Finn rifles.

I'm amassing the rifles from every army from post Civil War to Korea. Can't really specialize too much. I have three Finns, a M38, an M39 and an 1891. I really like the M39 and if given the chance would probably pick up another variation of that one.

No Finn collection is complete without a M31 Suomi.Get a Suomi if only in kit form & build a demil. You could go broke just buying bayonets for that family.

Forgot about the Suomi. I have one of those that has been sitting for a while. Need to send out the trigger assembly and the bolt to get them machined for semi-auto. Heavy chunk of steel right now.
I like the Suomi, but getting one in Cali could be problematic. Do they make 10 round magazines for them?Quote:

Great stable of M39's OP! I sure wish we had seen the volume imports of 39's here in Canada that the USA was privy to. Up here, we had only two imports that I know of, comprised of a few hundred M39's all told. On the other hand, we did get a LOT of M91's.
I managed to grab 2 M39's here, both of them have no import markings and came from Finland straight to Canada about 10 years ago. Still, even the cheapest M39's were around $400 when they first came in. Nowadays, they are all selling $800 and up here.

Nice Finns, indeed, Claven. Those are both special. I've got a 1968 "sneak" M39, but as you correctly note, no straight stock M39.

Hey Calfed thanks for sharing. the history of the finnish rifles is great. take your enemies rifles, improve them and use them. i can't tell from the photo do you have a P-26?
