Numrich has part # 543920C (Ventilated handguard for the Universal Carbine) $11.95 + shipping.
I hope that this helps.
Any handguard for the carbine will fit.
kind of late. I think the Enforcer H/G is shorter ???. I have one that is shorter then the regular H.G
I had one...and it was the same. Thing is, the gas is fixed at the same place as the Carbine so the front can only be so short. There were two barrel lengths...both were still with the original gas system.
Of tangential relevence, the length of the handguard depends obviously enough on how the stock is cut. I don't have an enforcer, but Mr. Owen, for some reason, designed his collapsible stock for the USGI carbine to use a shorter handguard than USGI. Why I don't know. I think it was a mistake on his part, but that's just my own opinion. It restricts my choice of handguards and accessories considerably. So not just any handguard will fit any commercial stock able to hold a USGI action.
Here is a pic of the short H/G next to a Lnld. H/G

Jim, in the next sentence, I admit I don't have an Enforcer, but I wanted to at least tactfully inform the OP in his/her search for a handguard that your generalization "any handguard will fit" probably isn't true. Of course, this internet being what it is, I could very well be wrong.Quote:

Iver Johnson Arms Enforcer
I've got an even shorter metal hand guard measuring 5.75" and shaped like the National Ordnance version that hugs the barrel. IOWs, it doesn't follow the wooden guard shape.

How long is your wood H/G ???.
I don't think he's too interested. 2 posts and last on the 27th of last month. He may be gone... I'd like to see any Enforcers that you men own though...if you would? Mine's long gone.
Still a good conversation .
I don't have an Enforcer I don't have the prohib lic. for them but would have been a nice carbine to have.
I think it would only be a restricted here...wouldn't it? Same as an M1 carbine? Unless you had one in F/A. Or are they one of the strange 12-( ) something?
No. The Iver-Johnson Enforcer M. 3000 barrel length 241 mm O. L. 432 MM & the Universal Enforcer M. 3000 barrel length 260 mm . They are Prohibited since 1992. They are the original M1 carbine Enforcers.
They must have been named specifically then...
Any other Enforcers would be reproduction made up . How are the gun shows in Vic. I have a friend there that has a table I would guess mostly M1 carbines on the table .
Mine was for instance...made to spec with an original stock and front cap.
There are a few carbines show up. Usually mixmasters, which is normal. Nothing more humorous than some of these guys telling you they have an original something-or-other that has a flat bolt, pot belly stock and bayonet lug...and of course they want a fortune.
Are you still putting the odd one together? Are you still searching for candidates? Would it be worth your time to receive info about sellers here? Our big show is end Oct.
Yes most are mix masters & yes they want to much for them. I do find the odd one around $475.00 but not often. Here is my last project. Still looking for another power pack for the other one. Also make the gun rack . That was fun. I think I got most of the measurements & help on this site . Great bunch of guys. It will be hard to find 20 carbines to fill it. I keep selling them

I saw an M3 in 1975 or so, here in the back of a gunshop that closed some years back. It was all there and as issued...not so scarce or valuable then. It sat for quite a while before going...
There nice to have if your a carbine collector . A great pieces of the past. I think they used the M3 scope mount for day time sniping from some of the info I got . I put Lyman Alaska scope on this one.

I'd rather use the Lyman. Those night scopes are too top heavy and too heavy to use for anything except their own job. I know, I had to carry stuff like that. Half the time it only worked half the time...
Even the stuff I had issued over the years was of limited usefulness, it wasn't until the 2000's that nightvison equipment really came into it's own. I especially appreciate the AN/PVS-504A (C2), lightweight, runs for ages on a single "AA" battery and it just works.
Thermal sights observation and weapon are where it's at, however even they have draw backs, such as the rattling noise during operation, and being defeated by glass windows and wool blankets. It was really interesting looking at mice tracks through the snow at night and watching them cool off and fade in intensity.
I remember doing enemy force in Gagetown years ago for an Infantry Officer Phase course, we were in a LAV 3 and just over a kilometer off, overlooking where their defensive position was located. It was easy to pick out the domes of a couple poorly camouflaged helmets in trenches, however one "bush" did sprout arms suddenly and stretch. We bumped every 40-50 minutes with para flares just to keep them at stand-to for the night.
It was my first exposure to modern thermal systems and drove home the effectiveness of such devices, it sure did change my outlook on what camouflage and concealment really meant.
