Hello From IL
Hello,
I am 16 years old and it has been my privilege to interview over 50 WWII veterans since age 13. I have a special interest in WWII women's uniforms. Currently, I am putting together a 4 hour documentary of the interviews I have done over the last few years.
I look forward to learning more on this forum!!

Welcome to the site Ellie. You are doing a great thing by interviewing these vets. It keeps their memories alive for our future generation who will not have the chance to sit down with those members of the Greatest Generation this nation has seen.
Good Job!!:super:
So are you just interested in WW2 nurse or all women that severed during WW2??

Hi Phil,
Thank you for your kind words.
I am interested in all women (and men of course) from WWII. I like the WAVES a NNC uniforms the best because the look the smartest : ), but am interested in all womens uniforms. As far as men's uniforms, It would depend on the unit and division for my level of interest in that uniform.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Are vintage uniforms discussed much on this forum and is the buy/sell section for uniforms as well of just weapons? https://www.facebook.com/LegacyOfOur...type=1&theater

Uniforms have a forum and the buy and sell is for whatever you need or have.

My aunt Annie was in the CBI theatre of operation stationed in India during WW2. She was attached to the AAF and did clerical work. I have her uniforms since I'm "THAT GUY" in our family who collects such things. They were given to me by my cousin who knew I would take care of them. I have all her photos from those times in Karachi. Her is a pic of her and also her uniforms. Eventually I'll get some mannequins and display her uniform and also my uncle the B17 gunner:thup:

There are probably still a few "vintage WW2" nurses still very lively and with incredible stories to tell.
See if there is an "association" somewhere near you.

At last! I´ve always wondered why so little interest is shown in the great variety of military nurses´ uniforms. At the time, I experienced awe, fear and respect for the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps Matron on the ward that I was in (... and left as soon as was decently possible!). How long must she have taken to appear in all her starched glory? Has any of this survived?
