Guys, I need some help. I need a Kar98a handguard. I have contacted Springfield Sporters but no luck. This the WWI small ring Mauser. Not sure who has one. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks guys.

I have never used them but if you cant find one maybe these guys will make you one. They make the whole stock set up for a Kar98a

I was about one week away from ordering a complete stock from PPHU Fox when one came up on ebay. I would think they would sell just the handguard if you asked. If you want original, ebay is the way to go. Might take years but it will eventually happen.

I actually got pretty lucky with this one. I think I watched ebay for somewhere between one and two months after I bought the rifle. I had watched the rifle at the gun shop for six months before offering him a lowball figure which he took because it had sat there for six months.

Mine is also a 1918 ERFURT.
This Kar98a is a German/Polish rifle, ground smooth on receiver. No date no nothing. I see a small 7.9 stamp, that is all.
No luck with Springfield Sporters. They do have Kar98a parts but, no wood at all. Nothing from Fox in England(?) or Poland(?). Anybody ever hear back from him?

I did manage to get through. I did order a Kar98a handguard from him. He said it would be made this week/next week. The inventory he has looks decent. He could make nice Springfield '03 "C" stocks and find a real market. I wonder if he knows that?

OK, I did order a handguard from Poland. But I haven't seen anything since. No idea how long this takes.
I'm under the impression that they make them when ordered and don't have a stock of them.
I ordered the Handguard before Christmas. Haven't seen anything since. I sent off an email 2 days ago and am still waiting for his response. I think he makes the wood as the orders come in. Still waiting.
