Scored a somewhat good deal yesterday. 1.8 mil Saginaw S'G', I-high wood stock, type 1 band, unstaked milled adjustable rear sight, $300. That's the good, the bad is its missing the trigger housing and internals, slide and bolt. Non-import and muzzle is slightly less then a 1, waiting for it to be shipped to my FFL , so until then no pics, good deal or bad ?

Not raining on it but they worked on assembling first and second blocks at same time. 1.8 might not be early.
Does it have round or square ear profile on left rear of receiver?
I see nothing about grand rapids using marlin barrels. Does it have a proof "P" on it? Pics

And a hi-wood, "I" cut stock. Nice, nice. That should be marked. Long range potential here...as for the barrel, probably replaced during one of it's half dozen trips into the weapons shop...over the 70 years. Depends if you're going to make it restored or a shooter I guess.
Correction, I had a brain fart when I wrote this post, it has a buffalo arms barrel not a marlin

I'm not doubting the story at all, but as much information as there is about the M1 carbine either online, in books, in videos or what ever source, you'd think someone could figure out what they had, but not necessarily know a value. Of course, occasionally I'll run into a seller who knows what they have, but doesn't care enough about the carbine stuff they have to sell it for what it's worth; those type of sellers are few and far between now.

Flaming Bomb is up right when the RMC is up right/ like in your picture, Bomb is straight across from the R.

I see a bomb in the slingwell too, but probably a different one than Charlie - could be a spot on my glasses! Might be something on the RH side of the stock, but it's probably my imagination. The receiver looks like my S'G' and the front band & swivel are marked exactly the same. - Bob

I Remember AN older member ~ jimnaseum (SP?) Who had 2 rmc's come in from cmp. both springtubes.... 1 of his stocks was marked like phillies, but had the QHMC big wheel cartouche. I found his post about them, but no pic link showing the slingwell. You can read his description telling the same style stacked RMC and Bomb.
I also believe it was David B who had a QHMC with sling marked the same.

Thanks Charlie ! The front sight is milled and has an "N" or "Z" stamped and the number 3 on the left side . I have a new phone and have yet to figure out the camera
