All Matching Series 0 Nagoya Type 99 With Mum
-
Thats what my first Arisaka was. Nice to start out with uncommon one!
-
Very nice. I have a ground mum no series but even though it is a bolt mismatch the bolt number is only off by one number.

Aragon here's my example. The monopod's a repro added by the previous owner and the sling is an older sling but definitely not original. However the stock doesn't seem to be sanded and as said before the bolt is only one number off the serial number. When it comes to the mum I'm not real sure how to classify it. It's either ground or excessively defaced. Either way this rifle was a gift to me by the previous owner to help with my collection.

Looks like chisel strikes.
-
that looks good as i only saw it in passing

It's actually my fourth Type 99, just the first with a mum. Now I'm debating selling or trading two of them. Hard decision, don't like getting rid of guns. The one I'm definitely keeping is a substitute standard in super shape other than the ground mum. I have repro dustcover and monopod I'll probably put on it until I can locate originals.

I personally have bought type 99 parts off this website here in the past when I did a restoration. I recommend emailing the owner and asking if he has any of those specific parts in stock and not listed (I did this for a Type 99 dust cover).

Type 99 Rifle Parts
If you keep just one make sure its this one. Only about 8000 made, a lot less than that matching with mum.

that is really nice type 99.
could you turn the two extras into an '03 or something else on your want list?
-
I think they made 99,999, it's not a long rifle.

That would be ideal. The money from any sale would go into the gun fund if I can't find a trade.
-
Are the screws still staked on it? That's a real nice gun. Sad I walked by it now but glad someone who appreciates it got it.
-
Now, that makes me a bit envious!
Very fine rifle!!!
-
Screws all unstaked. I had to take it apart to replace the bayonet release. It was unstaked by whoever took it off I would assume but even the other screws were removed at one time. Condition under the wood is like mint.

Now get some ammo an shoot it.
-
I hope the photos are an indication you are free of the plague.
Very nice 99 & photos as well.
-
Not quite free of the plague but first time in two weeks that I've had a noticeable improvement. Headache manageable now, pain medication about half of yesterdays.
Mike, I have ammo. I don't shoot these, the ammo is for the zombie apocalypse.
-
man do not let that old war horse sit shoot it. Thats why they make new ammo. I shoot everything I get my hands on. some of my best shooters are the ones nobody wanted said they were too dark or too rotted out inside. They were made to be used over an over. maybe thats why i do not have collector grade stuff :madsmile::madsmile::madsmile::madsmile:
