The Most Armed Man in America , Weapons Tour - YouTube
just to see all that stuff would take a month
Definitely prepared for the apocalypse this gent is by far, good friend bad enemy...............
"I have 100's of landmines all through the museum" that's one way to discourage break ins.
I honestly thought my collection was getting a bit large, guess I really need to step up my game that is just insane. I wonder where he gets the funds for that type of collection as he literally could arm at least 1000 soldiers likely more and have them pretty well equipped too.
Typical, he's a gun dealer and range so stuff comes by him. Obviously he's got substantial means...
There are some serious $'s there wonder if those 1000 pound bombs are live (filled) just about everything else is live I never realized the complete recoiless rounds were so big I have 2 empty cases here but the projectile is very big and to think the Ontos had 6 of them mounted, has anyone ever seen an Ontos in action or at all ? You maybe Jim.
I was in 106 Platoon for a stretch so I've participated in firing a 106mm but haven't seen the six fired like they could.
The ammo may be live but the bombs and the grenades won't be. No place on earth would allow grenades lying out where they could be handled in a museum setting. Live bombs would be a hazard in case of fire.
I thought this very same thing. While I believe he has a lot of stuff and a lot are probably legit, I also see a lot of chest thumping and gum bumping. Still one huge amount of stuff though :)Quote:

Wonder what his insurance premiums are, I reckon you would have to sign a waiver going into that place in case something went up not sure on how stable old dynamite is. You would have to have armed guards at night for that place you could near on start a war with that lot and hold your own very well indeed.
Sooo, Who's going to organize the class trip? I'm free this summer.....
Depends completely on how well it's stored. It can start exuding and you can't handle it after that. You CAN however get exact replica for training that's a wrapper over a playdoe stick. It stays pretty stable. Don't think he'd be allowed to have live dynamite lying around either...
I was once OIC of the 106 range. Best show for visiting brass was to stack up about 30 wooden ammo boxes behind a gun and fire it... back blast turned them into toothpicks! Always impressive :)
But the weapon was impressive, too... I'll bet I could take a raw recruit and make him a tank killer in about an hour. The trigger was a push-pull knob... pull to fire the spotting rifle, when that was on, push to fire the main tube. Bang BANG.
I kinda like the 106. I killed a T 55 with one many, many years ago in Viet Nam.
The Dragon Man is about a 30 min drive from my house. A truly "very interesting place!" Been in there many times. He has an M38A1 Jeep that used to belong to me.
Sarge
Sarge did you see the Ontos (Greek for "The Thing") in action I built a model of one years ago and just liked the look of it as it sure had some fire power for its era though very lightly armoured.
That is my M422A1 Mighty Mite behind the Ontos at the Tower Park meet in 2014.
A short video of it being backed off the low-bed.

The thing to note about this video is that when your wife complains about your collection you can show her the video and prove to her that you are being conservative in your collecting:)

Thanks Bill for those who have never seen an Ontos their name is well deserved as I think the designer must have been on some really good sh*t to come up with that, but nice light vehicle with tons of fire power only thing is a minor tactical retreat to a safe place to reload. Did they fire the "Bee-hive round" or was that from a 105mm field piece. Awesome pics Bill appreciated :super:
