Welcome to the forum, there are a few here that know everything about these. They'll like some more detailed pics. Very detailed stripped and pics of specific things. Take a look at the forum and you'll see what pics. Very, very nice pistol. Be patient, they'll be along.
You have a M1911 shipped in mid-1918 to Springfield Armory, this WWI 1911 has been overhauled with small WWII parts like the trigger, grip safety, slide stop, grips. Barrel should have on top of the chamber vertical H P marked.
Finish should be dark blue (Black Army period) I could not determined if the gun has been Parkerized.
Speaking about the value I live overseas so you will have more aware answers from collectors on this site.
In my country an overhauled M1911 like yours would be ~$1000/1200.

Mike, Thanks so much for your reply. I had no idea so many parts had been replaced (aside from the grip and trigger).
Does this mean the gun is a Springfield Armory refurbish? Or did someone, possibly my Father replace the parts?

FWICS you've got a very nice crisp looking 1911, although some parts were replaced you can always look for correct ones.
I don't think that it was parkerized at all, to me it still has its original finish.

I'd leave it also, I don't understand what you're trying to do? Return it to original? It IS original... You'd still need to completely strip and photo it so these can tell you what's original and what was changed...maybe.
