I wouldn’t touch them with a ten-foot pole.
You mean Numrich as an entity? I used to do a fair amount of business but that was back when you could purchase Garand clips by the 45 gal drum at a reasonable price, not average of $5 each. Most of their stuff is repro now I understand. I did actually happen to stumble upon them one day when I was about to take a detour through the Catskill mtns though, back in about "89. Wish I'd had more time. All I had time to buy was a walnut M14 stock for $4 USD...
Correct.
After I bought some parts from them my credit card number was used to make fraudulent purchases. I hadn’t used the card in months and used it with them to keep it alive. They apologized and when I asked them to delete my information, they said they had deleted all of it. But they never did. So, my experience is they are liars. That’s why I don’t trust them.
Appear to be a lot more restrictions. Both U.S. government and company policies. This is the important page. International Orders | Numrich Gun Parts
Once your credit and/or personal info is anywhere on the Internet, it's compromised. There's no such thing as a secure server if a hacker wants into it.
So still no shipping to australia? Never seen company not willing to take someones money as much as numrich
I'm happy to do the lodging with CBP and postal shipments if you get the sellers to ship the packages here with a proper invoice. I DO charge for the service, (God forbid!). Anyone who needs help please email me direct at bdlltd@bellsouth.net and not via PM on the forum.
Yes a right Royal pain them cutting us off with the new restrictions, was a good source of parts although the postage was over the top.
Dick
What new restrictions are you speaking of?
Was there a U.S. state dept. ruling about not allowing sales of gun parts out of the U.S. ?
Yup, It's called ITAR.
All firearm component parts fall under ITAR. 121.1 Category 1(g). This includes, to put it simply: EVERYTHING. This means that posting any parts without lodging them first via the ACES system with Customs and Border Protection as a registered exporter is ILLEGAL in the USA. Shipments up to $100 worldwide and $500 to Canada do not require export licensing. Shipments of more value DO require export licensing.
I find it all very confusing! A couple of years ago Numrich was happy to sell me FN 49 parts directly but last year was told (by Numrich) that some minor parts for a Johnson model 1941 (springs, etc, <<$500) would have to go through an intermediary licensed importer. At the time Numrich wouldn't say much about why but had the impression it was the specific rifle. Got the parts but major drag.
Ridolpho
It IS confusing Ridolpho and everyone just posts this stuff all over the world without any thought or care UNTIL they get caught. The big parts houses like Numrich and small potatoes registrants like myself have everything to lose and nothing to gain. The gov't makes all these regulations but individuals, postal clerks and even Customs Inspectors are not trained properly about them and it's a total cluster f--k, (military term).
