Luis, the best way is to bead blast , parkerize and then spray with Suncorite. Perma blue is ok for touch up or small bits, but there are better products
Thank you for your quick reply Bigduke!
Houston! We have a problem...
Impossible found suncorite in the end of the world...
I think oxpho blue and perma blue are similar products...
No, Suncorite 259 is a paint, oxpho and perma blue are just bluing products.
There is suncorite 258 which is now called Bonderite O-PC 528 Black RFU ??
I don't know if this replaced 259 but I did email them to ask, some details in the link below, being self-phosphating is an added bonus....
Suncorite 259 is still available in the UK but is ex surplus stock, think the dates are from 2006,
Suncorite is now Bonderite | EMC
For large cold bluing you may want to consider Van's Instant Gun Blue. Warm the parts with a heat gun prior to application for the best results.
You can get Van's Instant Gun Blue on thier website at VansGunBlue.com or even on eBAY. Oh I see the problem you are in B Aires, Argentina well you could simply make a hot blue soultion a good one is here "http://www.sporterizing.com/index.php?showtopic=141"http://www.sporterizing.com/index.php?showtopic=141
I can take a few of me doing a few rifles in the future, I just use a gravity spray gun, and dilute until I get a spray instead of blobs.... still after a few applications you need to clear the pot of thick goo.
I do mine outdoors, weather permitting and in the UK thats not very often.
Hi Luis,
Big Dukes course of action is the way to go, but, if you need a finish to replicate Suncorite on a wall hanger (that isn't going to be dragged around a field, or bounce about in a jeep), just strip down the Bren, carefully prepare (remember as with most things preparation is everything) and mask off the components you can't strip due to the deactivation process etc.
Use a solvent based de-greaser, dry it off and ensure its dust free, apply a very light coat of primer (preferably black or dark grey) and several coats of good quality aerosol matt black.
Allow the paint to flash off in-between coats, nice even coats is the thing here. Let it all dry for 24 hours and simply buff up with a micro fibre cloth to the desired semi matt finish.
I use the Birchwood Casey Perma Blue, Luis, although I wouldn't fancy doing an entire Bren Gun with it. I normally only use it for small parts such as bands and screws etc and for touching up. It is possible to get that vintage, dull, blue look with this product by first leaving the item that you wish to blue in a phosphoric acid dip metal treatment for a few hours and normally I would leave an item in the acid overnight before removing. After removing the item from the acid I then immediately wipe all excess acid off with clean rags or paper wipes until dry. The metal should have a light dull grey colour and after about half an hour the liquid blue can be applied directly onto this surface. I have also had good results with bead blasting parts before dipping in the acid. If you apply this blue to a shiny steell surface you will most likely end up with a shiny blue surface which will look wrong for the type of finish that you require.
Luis,
I think you could get very good results with car spray paint on the body.
Hi Vincent!
It seems to be the only way I have to do this job ....
Best regards!
Luis, I'm not sure if Vincent is talking about shake can car paint or body shop spray gun paint that you mix with thinners etc before use? I suspect that it's body shop paint that you use with a spray gun?
you might look into Caswell bluing kit.

I don't know but for me Paint looks like paint. Since you can't find bluing chemicals I would just use a homebrew Blue or Parkerizing. If you do a google or yahoo search for "homemade zinc phosphate parkerizing solution" or "homemade blueing salts" you will find a bunch that should work well for you.
I have read all the comments carefully, but as I said at the beginning , here I only find products like Perma Blue. I have searched and read many google sites on how to make a proper treatment, as usabaker comments, but I do not feel able to do something like that. For now I will start cleaning the entire surface of the receiver, while analyzing what kind of protection against the rust applied. I have possibility of using automotive paint, although I prefer the spray can.
Many thanks for your helps!!
I have other gun project.... a M2HB Dummy ...

How will the Bren look with this painting?
Can you get Mark Lee Express Blue #1 in your country? If so, it's easy to use, and gives excellent results.
Oh gee.... (Rust bluing refinishing thread) - 1911Forum
In the above linked thread there are a lot of pictures will be dead links because of Photobucket's recent stunt, but the instructions (and results) are very good nonetheless. I've rust blued four 1911 pistols, and have been very satisfied with the results. Bluing instructions at the below link.

Before and after below of the two most recent I've done with Mark Lee Express Blue #1.

Luis--Wow-I think you should start another thread on this M2HB dummy. Looks interesting! Salt Flat
Salt, Jim!
Thanks for your interest. The M2HB Project takes several years, something is always missing to finish it. Sometimes pieces, sometimes time!
I promise that when I return to work, I will share them in a post.
Living away from civilization brings inconveniences when it comes to getting pieces to complete projects like this .. I'm in the *** of the world !!
Hi Vincent!
What do you thing about this colour to paint the body?? Charcoal/Gray
Luis-- In the past I have parkerized the firearms and then applied a Black Baked Laquer Paint to my British firearms to simulate the Suncorite. The wife does not like me to use the kitchen oven to bake the laquer paint. LOL!!
