I would say. I've seen a couple of those before, other rifles though. I did a '92 Winchester that way once. That was an overload of sorts.
I had a M1 Carbine, Winchester that fractured along that same line but it was metal fatigue...old age. A classic of an old receiver that had been refinished before sale so it looked good.
A dent puller, soldering tools, a few coats of park and some unsuspecting buyer probably won't know the difference. Saw one like this recently but it had not blown up yet. Lemme see if I still have pics of it. It was a 7 million inland.

It looks like the rear of the right bolt lug is partly ripped forward.
Think thats Epoxy patched on the left rail?
Pimped out, just needing curb feelers....

Think it was rewelded after previous torch cut. Could not see the whole way down, but that weld area when down behind the wood. It was highly polished. Bolt looked chromed or coated with something. Highly polished as well. Looked like a bag of skittles. Was told the colors were the result of bluing gone wrong. Hopefully it will hang on a wall instead of being used.
Thanks Jim. The colors were lots of orangish/brown, a little bit of purple, spots of yellow. Shame as it ruined it.

Yes, that's a weak solution of bluing.
A dent puller won't fix that. And a hammer will probably finish the job. $82 paperweight. Geezuz.
"...orangish/brown, a little bit of purple, spots of yellow..." That's patina. Latin for rust.[COLOR="black"]
Sunray,
No easy way to say this but to just drop in on you... YOU COULD'T BE MORE INCORRECT
That Receiver is currently up to $92.00 plus $20 shipping along with any FFL Transfer cost.
As I type this, time remaining 21Hrs .
Maybe someone plans to squeeze it in a vice to get it straight and believes the hype that 'Gorilla Glue' can fix anything.
Seriously; I hope no one gets hurt on this one.......... :nono:

I don't know why someone would pay that for a useless item. Then again my paperweight is machine stamped. I doubt anyone looking at it will know what it is.
