Overheard the gun shots and spent brass hitting the pavement on the tv in the other room yesterday. Thought I knew that sound. By the time I got in there this scene was over. So I looked it up. Carbine? yes.... thoughts?

Yep, Charlie, sure looks like it.
To me, looks like an M1A1 with extended mag, flip sight, Type 2? band, and no sling. Not sure I could see the metal "folder" on it. - Bob
I don't think so, think it's one of the others with a grip and the folder taken off...like the "Schmeisser" type... I can't say though.
I'm sticking with M1A1. I believe I can see the cut for the folder in the left side of the stock in the first pictures, and the grip looks right in these pictures. - Bob
It has a pistol grip for sure. But in the third photo it almost looks like the back side of the stock is made for the under folder type butt and not the side swing M1A1.
And the bayo band shadow ?
The handguard a couple shades too light?

Some pages are better than others and this one is a bit sparse. It does say it’s a M1A1 though.

A semi auto Colt Python! WOW! I would like to see one of those. Now legend has it that there is a gun smith south of Camp Petty that has a Franken rifle that is made from a mixture of 03, 1917, 1918, M1 and M1 Carbine parts but I never made it to Oak Harbour to see it for myself. A semi auto Python Wow!
