The same seller Ironman is currently offering a rebuilt IP with a RMC barrel (pictured below)
Question is:
Has anyone ever seen a RMC barrel marked/dated like this one ?
Anyone ever seen a Gas cylinder marked like this on a RMC ?

Anyone know if B&P Motor Sales who made and marked cylinders for Inland BI ever supply gas cylinders to another maker ?
Might the B just be a partial stamp ?
Something about this......... Because it's mentioned in the auction as:

We believe the 3-43 dated Rock-Ola barrel to be original to the Carbine. Interestingly, there is no Rock-Ola mark on the side of the gas cylinder but there is a letter mark on its front.

Very Early Rock-ola barrels were marked with an R in the same position on the gas cylinder . Could it be an R ?

With it blown up 250% it still looks like a B to me, but maybe is a R.

B&P Motor Sales didn't stamp with just a 'B'. It was 'BI' on the swaged gas cylinder.
Apparently, Rock-ola didn't date their barrels either.

Rock-Ola Dated Barrels up to 6-43 . The earliest I have seen and have is 11-42 on a 16629xx

That is definitely a B on the gas cylinder, maybe a light strike on the I, so light that it is missing? According to WB Inland sent 2215 gas cylinders to Rock-Ola in 1943.

Thx for the leg work Wayne :thup:, though we have no way to know if Inland sent their own made gas cylinders and or some from the Sub Contractors who also made Cylinders for Inland... like BI, RI, SI or WI.

Now I've been looking over the ROCK-OLA stamp on the barrel in the auction above and question it.
A few things jump out at me when compared but I don't want to say just yet.

Every picture I can find here and on completed Ebay auctions show the style of the letters like pictured here and the left one above.

The C, K, 2nd O, spacing between the L and A stand out different to me.
The cross in the A also stands out.

Also no sign of the small Ordnance bomb on the barrel near the slide rails.
I won't have time to pull out my own RMC barrels until this weekend.

May just be me......... But I'm leery of this barrel.

Looks like a bad fake to me. But what do I know? I've only been collecting these things for 25 years.

Well that barrel was Import marked and hooked on to a rebuilt IP receiver.
Sold for $2526.00 plus shipping.
The price of IP receivers have gone up !!

At a recent show, saw a mixmaster IP sell for 3k. Serial number was 1.77 something. Didn’t get a look at the barrel. Had a bayonet lug, adjustable rear sight. Not sure if stock was original but it had a boxed P above the wrist. Seems likes a crazy price to me but buyer stated it was the only maker he didn’t have. Also said an original one was too much and he wouldn’t know how to tell anyway

I do agree the fonts did look different on that barrel but my question would then have to be would there really be a fake R-Ola barrel with Import Marks?

Font different.
Odd gas cylinder... that looks like it was freshly soldered.

Could this barrel have been pieced together?

I found this old post by Mike from New Zealand. His pictures show his IP with 2-43 dated Rock-Ola barrel.
The barrel letters match the style of the one I've been questioning (bottom one above) dated 3-43.
RMC must have changed the style of the font/stamp at some time.
Mikes has a R stamped on the front of the gas cylinder.
