That is the good news.....we got them all back eventually!
Looks like they were loaded up for the photo op. Look at the left guy, couldn't stumble anywhere with an armload like that.

Yup, same thing.
The German pic is interesting with the Thomsons, one with a Cutts compensator (Is that correct) and one without.....also one with the cocking handle on top and one with it on the Rt side just visible. Am I correct on the second observation as I know SFA about the different Thompson models.

The vertical grip couldn't be obscured. You'd clearly see it as you do the horizontal stock. The US military didn't have them in WW2, just the horizontals...interchangeable with the M1. You can actually SEE the forestock tennon in the pic.Quote:

I can understand them taking the weapons for good reason one may have been more fire power as the K-98 with only five rounds leaves a bit to be desired despite being highly accurate but your ammo supply is limited or subject to how many times you over run the enemies positions. No good being in a fire fight if your reduced to throwing stones at the apposing forces.
Gun shows just aren't the same these days.
