WW2 Ball Turret with twin .50 cals at the Big Sandy Shoot

Yup, I can see it happening, thousands might not but I do.
if only I had the cash!!!
You'd need lots just to approach at Big Sandy, you'd go through a mortgage worth just at the range...then you'd need a truck to mount it for range work.
I've got to win lotto, looks like Jim's assessment of whats required has put the knockers on my wife and I ever attending it as we were keen!
Actually, it’s very inexpensive to go and watch. Really worth the small admittance fee, plus they have free campsites, reasonable dinner, small swap meet/gun show, and even a chance to shoot many of the guns that are there. THAT will cost you, though! Ammo for these bad boys don’t come cheap!
My thought on the whole Ball Turrent resurection....?
Hell Yeah! Would love to have one!!
Well I guess we may still go and be selective in shooting if I told you what it cost me last year to hire that Lamboghini Aventador for an hour in US Greenbacks you would have me certified as a lunatic:banghead: mind you it was a $1.6 million dollar car it was a 3 figuire sum that was not that shy of a 4 figure sum...........not that I will be doing it again but I can say where others may not I have driven one albiet only to 160klm/Hr but it got there quickly.:yikes:
Having a quad .50 on a half-track or gun truck is awesome, this IMO is in that same group of awesome.
How much would it cost to use the ball turret to shoot up the Lamborghini?
Smithsonian Channel recently aired a new hour long documentary on Gun Trucks of Vietnam.

You know your talking of a quad fifty that would still sit pretty giving the rag heads a bit of hurry up why use one when you can have 4!
Then there is that other piece of forgotten kit the ONTOS now with 6 recoiless rifles you could sit out of range of SAF negating the need to hightail it to reload each time you salvoed, imagine in an urban scenario 6 flechette rounds going down a street!
They do not play fair so why should the armed services of the world have to keep it squeeky clean its not as if the Taliban is going to take anyone to court for injustices caused by coalition forces!
The Old Dominion Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force has a functioning Martin Top Turret. It is my understanding that these were used in B-24s and B-25s:

Cosine That's just the shot for those heavy days in traffic that jeep will unblock the most conjested of freeways with in a Jiffy with the Fifties!!!
I've seen Quad .50s in action on some US base camp I had occasion to visit in Vietnam circa 1968-69. Very impressive light show when "Charlie's in the wire".
I'm still waiting for a laser cannon to install under the bonnet of my car to use on the mongrels who crowd in and block intersections in front of me.
