Will the MkII end cap screw onto a MkI return tube ? Are the threads the same ?
One of the truly knowledgeable members will be along shortly to answer your inquiry. In the meantime, if I get to the safe and drag out my versions, I will check for you. Answer should be along shortly. My immediate reaction is to say YES...but I am a novice.
OK, tried it and they crossed over with no problems. NOW< that is not to say that my Bren MkI was not build with something other than a MkI tube, but as it stands right now, they appear to be exactly the same in thread and pitch and length.
Exactly the same for very good reason. Most parts are interchangeable between marks, it’s just the level of assembly that changes. i.e. you can interchange bipod assemblies but a Mk2 bipod leg won’t fit a Mk1 bipod.
So you can fit a Mk2 Butt assembly on a Mk1 if you use the correct Mk2 fitting hardware.

Thanks guys . The end caps from a MKI and a MKII will screw onto all the return tubes of the Bren gum and are interchangeable , As I understand what is stated in this thread .
Just curious, are you building a semi or a display gun?
