Seen this today.
Looking at the screen picture you just know it's going to be one of those days when your first shot hangs up.
I'm thinking he should stop shooting it and give it a Tune Up.
Probably not a good idea to throw your spent Mag down on the concrete.

Picture looks like the thing is crooked. Compare the rear sight to the front blade. Might be just the angle though. The guy seems to be reaching a lot to the forestock too. He needs some Carbine operating and IA lessons too. I wonder if he's left handed.
"...first shot hangs up..." Looks like a mag lip issue. Easily fixed with fine, long, needle nosed pliers. My one 30 round mag needed the lips tweaked open a tick(that's less than a wee bit.) to get it to feed reliably.
I'm thinking the awkward hold and reach is because he has a go pro strapped on his chest.
It does make it look like the barrel is over indexed in the screen shot, but very possibly camera angle.
To Add: How far is that back stop?
I see his sight is all the way back to the 300 I believe.
Would be interesting to see his group..... If he was shooting at a target. Looks like he's just trying to hit the stop ?
I can tell you right now he has a bad extractor. Probably a damaged edge. Not extracting cleanly. It need to be replaced. Watch the way it throws the brass all over the place. I suspect he is also using aftermarket mags as they appear to be dragging on the bottom of the bolt.

At least he's out shooting. I wasted the day waiting for a flight tonight @ 8:30. They kept texting with 1/2 hr delays. @ 11:45 they cancelled. So try again Friday night @ 7:30. Lucky the Airport is only 1/2 hr away, but lost 1 day of celebrating my Grandsons 4th Birthday.

I have never tried one but I have read thousands of times where people do and very rarely have good results with them. These carbines have been running for over 70 years without extra power springs, so I don't know why anyone would think they need them today

At that distance, I thought he was doing pretty good for off-hand - kept those (2) steel targets swinging! Couldn't read all the distance markers, but must have been at least 50 yards, maybe 75? Using a 400K Inland with some later features, I believe. - BobQuote:

Worst.... stupidest thing I ever did was sneak up on a ground hog in one of the horse stalls that was between the inner stall wall and outer wall. I think of that 'barn shot' when reading about the bombing in WWI and WWII that the troops would have to go through. Just the shear number of rounds being lofted or dropped was so staggering.

My monitor barely shows the swinging targets he's hitting but he was doing good with the Carbine. Loudest thing I've fired was an AK with muzzle brake. It was loud with ear plugs.
As for ringing, Try an AK 74 with surplus ammo!:yikes:
Add a muzzle brake and reassess for increased amplification.
I have never noticed that my AK is louder with a muzzle brake. It would make sense though since some of the vents on the brake are pointed back in the direction of the shooter somewhat to counteract the recoil forces. I have the meridian defense bd2 brake on my slr-107r . AK variants are indeed loud even with earplugs. Next time I take her to the range, I'm going to take a few shots with and without the break. I don't know about sound differences, but the brake sure does help with follow-up shots on the AK platform. My AK is a totally different animal without a brake
The terrain could have been contributing too. Where we shot that configuration was against a ridge with houses behind us. Haven't shot them anywhere else.
Try a 444 Marlin 336 inside a single cab landrover lwb ute had the half windows out needed some roo meat for the dogs spotted him in the crop stopped the ute motor off leant against the drivers door still inside the vehicle swiveled so I could lean against the door on the inside sitting quite comfortably left foot up on the gear box arch puuurrrfect dropped the plex on his chest and let drive. 2 things happened instantly all the red dust in that cab became airborne you could not see out of the passengers half window, secondly I went instantly deaf with pain with a loud ringing in my ears which took @ 3 hours to abate I could not even hear my wife speak when I got home. Got the 'roo so the woofen barkers were pleased...........
Hahaha, you described that so well that I can instantly picture that scene. I bet it was like someone letting off a red dirt bomb inside the cab hahaha. That reminds me of when I shot my friends M107A1. We were at a nice, private gun range shooting at a table that was under a roof to keep the sun and rain off of the shooter. I only shot it once and the concussion from it instantly evacuated my sinuses. I will never shoot one of those ever again under a covered anything. My sinuses were stopped up before shooting it, not so much afterwards. I don't know if it would have been that big of a difference on me if I would have had clear sinuses to begin with but I'm not willing to try that again either way hahaQuote:

I've heard you never want to fire an arm in the cabin of a vehicle, which is surprising to me. I had a bouquet of balloons in a car and popped them one after another and it was very muffled. Not at all like it would be in a house.
I did the same sort of thing once, took a very close shot at a deer from a truck. I was in the army and out in the training area in the '80s...stopped and pulled a Colt Detective .38 spl. The cylinder gap was inside the cab and when I fired it about crippled me... The deer all loped off.Quote:

I nearly deafened myself and a friend in early 86. I had long been after a 62 step side and my Father found a near perfect project truck he'd brought up from Muscles Shoals AL (sp?). My friend gave them the WTF finger gesture while we were out in the left lane. Looking over my right shoulder I seen the rear drivers side passenger pull a pistol and fired 2 or 3 shots toward us then they sped off. At the time he fired he was at my 5 so I was trying to speed up while pulling us over beyond the left shoulder of the road. I have no doubts he was trying to hit one of us. After they had sped away we pulled over and parked on the right shoulder. A quick look over showed there were 2 bullet holes in the ole chevy, one in the right rear fender the other hole above it thru the bed side. Holes about what you'd expect from a .45. When we got back on the road it was still before sun rise but getting lighter. We drove on and were nearly out of Kentucky when we crested a hill. Ahead of us we could see their car pulled to the shoulder with the hood up over heating. All were at the front looking at the motor. As we got to their side I had slowed almost to a stop, then told my buddy to cover his ears and duck. I leaned over and put a few into their side glass as they ran for the brush I emptied the rest in to their grille and radiator from my rear sliding window. Up the road we had stopped in Northern Ohio at a rest stop. We were maybe 30 miles from Mi. When we came out there was a Ohio State Trooper pulled next to us just standing next to the old Chevy. I knew I hadn't hit anyone but was plenty nervous. Trooper smiled at us and asked how the trip had been. Before I answered I noticed he had his finger poked in to the bullet hole on the fender. He said that hole looks fresh no rust........ He's standing on the right side of our rig, as I told him it had been a long night and we still had a couple hours to go. As he was in the middle of saying be careful out there my buddy opened the door to get in and I heard the metallic tink tink sound of a couple spent casings hitting the pavement. I know the Trooper heard them too but he went on to say it had been a good night as they had caught 2 Federal fugitives whose car had gave out at the Ohio Kentucky state line. Needless to say I was never so happy to see that MI state line. Even better to get home, but still spent a few days saying HUH?
After being home a week or so I noticed a glancing shot over the cab of the Ford just above where I was sitting/driving. After cleaning out the old Chevy truck bed we found the remains of a .45 ball round heavily distorted. I kept it in the glove box.

I had a similar situation in Fla. back in the 80's. Going from DeLeon Springs to Tampa on the back roads late at night, a couple of bored locals started playing the slow down-speed up game. When I got tired of it I stopped in the middle of the road and stepped out with a .22 mag revolver. going, going, gone!:madsmile:
