anzac smle's question

when was the last lithgow smle manufactured?
i'm guessing 1945. i know they were used in korea.
also. did the the new zealanders use lithgow smles during ww11 or were they issued no.4's?

Rifle No F40580 in 1953 according to Skennerton

Right there.

Ian says 1953. I'd go with that despite recalling the Lithgow museum staff telling '54.

Have heard that there is a 1955 dated one but have not seen it

NZ troops used No1s in the European Theatre, and No4s in the Pacific,and some of the No1s were Lithgows.
