Has anybody seen a FN C1 A1 (Canadian) sniper cover for the PVS 502 Night Vision Scope? NSN 5855 - 21 - 871 - 4140. There's one in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, Canada and a picture on their website. How rare are these? What would a guy expect to pay for one? Ron (Canada)
Not sure which one you mean Ron as so much stuff is referred to as "Sniper"...is this it? This body cover/mount?
That's correct. The dust cover mount is what I'm asking about. You see PVS 502 for sale.

Not sure on what the value is for these now.

Given up building one here, it would be easier to get a unicorns horn than a C1A1 reciver and TMH!
At least I can study examples at Warminster on occasion I guess....
Unfortunitly only the one. There are however about 6 C1, C1A1, and C2 rifles at the NFC Leeds

It's a gap in my inch pattern collection that's highly unlikely ever to be filled..
Due to the international situation conspiring against all of us collecting such things, stunning collections like Kev's are beyond us now.

The last C1A1 dewats that I have seen sell in Canada were in the $2800 to $3300 range. With the impending gun ban and gun buyback here in Canada, there may be more coming up if the governments offered price is not up to standard.Quote:

Can't talk too much without crossing the political line...they intend to ban all "Assault" weapons, perhaps confiscate all AR15 platforms and Mini 14 types. Perhaps prohibit handguns at a provincial or city by city level. We don't know too much as they are keeping it a secret until they spring it. They have said they don't want to spur a "Buying frenzy"... They also speak of a buyback but it will be dimes on dollars. We just know there's more encroachment coming. You could actually find it online pretty easily and likely learn as much as we actually know.Quote:

I have recently picked up a few C1A1 / C2A1 top cover mounts for the PVS-502. So now I am searching for a PVS-502, should anyone have one gathering dust in their basement? Also, if anyone is looking for a mount?
There are enough FN collectors on forum you might well start a WTS ad in the forum and perhaps make sales...
I built my clone in the late 1980's using an early good quality Entreprise Arms receiver and new Australian barrel. The only Canadian parts that were unobtainable. I had six of the C1 sniper scopes in the cans with accessories that I also purchased and imported 20+ years ago. I sent them all back to Leitz for service and they cleaned out their drawers and returned them with a bunch of spare lens cloths and screwdrivers. which was super nice of them. There were still instrument techs that were familiar with the scopes there at the time. All are long gone now except for one that I kept.
