Very nice, too bad the powers that be have relegated it to be a safe queen. We must hope that some day our government will allow responsible law abiding citizens to use them again.

She's absolutely beautiful, shame you can't shoot her, but it's a stunning example of a very rare rifle and I would give a kidney to have her in the collection!

This is the L12A1 conversion kit used by the Canadian Armed Forces to shoot with .22LR caliber.

The conversion kit is contained in a wooden transit chest which is divided to store the various parts. The kit consists of 0.22 Inch Barrel Insert, Breech Mechanism Assembly and two (2) 0.22 Inch Magazines. The four (4) parts are serialized with a serial number for each kit. For my kit, the barrel has a different serial number (#443) than other parts are (#004). There were made in Germany by Heckler & Koch (HK) as you can see the “HK” stamped on the right side of the barrel. The Canadian Forces used conversion kit for indoor shooting at 25 yards with the FN C1A1 and C2A1 with appropriate targets. When I was in the Canadian Army in the 1980s, I used to shoot a lot the FN C1A1 with the conversion kit.

I used to carry one in my rifle when I was out in the field. Shot thousands with it...mostly Winchester LPO.

I was in Fred's basement, (CS Military), a lot from the mid/late 1990's until about 2007 if memory serves and remember racks full of those lovely 8L series OPP C1A1 rifles. I pondered buying and importing them as parts kits less the bodies but never could strike a deal that I was comfortable with. When i built mine, I managed to scrounge all Canadian parts except the barrel which is nos Australian and the body which was one of the first batch of Entreprise Arms manufacture and excellent quality unlike some later batches or so I'm told. It's not a pure C1 or C1A1, (sorta in between), but will have to do and shoots like a house on fire. I do prefer the milled magazine catches and early beehive body lock levers anyhow.

Nice collection and layout. If you do not already have you may want to look out for - rifle manual, P82 mag pouch (there are a several variations in material and with or without grenade carrier on side), plastic muzzle cover, stripper clips (if you get really serious there are many varieties from 10 & 5 round horseshoe to white, black and clear plastic and then different manufacturing dates for the metal ones), early cloth bandolier (re purposed .303) and also several experimental varieties (clear plastic), early sling with metal buckles, different types of ammo (blank, grenade blank, different manufacturing years etc)

Seems like it never stops which is a good thing for us enthusiasts....
