You'd need a set of the corresponding Purdey bases, or a genuine rifle with them already fitted. The front ring would also need repairing back to its original configuration, although that would not be too difficult. But without those bases.......... I have had both bases & rings made in the past - several small batches - but have none at the moment, I'm afraid.
I don't know precisely how NZ prices compare with prices in the UK, but over here even with the work needed on the front ring it would probably fetch at least 1000 GBP if not more. I do not know what effect on sale just at the moment the 'Covid-19 Factor' might have though.
Both rings are butchered. Not beyond all repair, but beyond easy repair.
Says "available for pickup". How much are tickets to N.Z. these days anyway?

Well spotted Surpmil. I didn't notice the 'work' on the rear ring at first. It's all correctable with a will, but is it worth doing unless you have an appropriately equipped rifle to put it on? I suppose it comes down to how badly you want one. The scope is cosmetically alright so if optically ok it is still worth money....
at 1.000 NZD the reserve price has not been met!
Hmm might be in the too hard basket for me then. I dont know of any other rifles to copy from either. As for the price well time will tell I guess it just depends on who wants want at the time, or more to the point who can afford it at the time! My No4T replica on there has met its reserve...

By the way, the maker of the case is J.D. Brooks & Co. who are still well known as makers of leather bicycle seats. I still have my "Brooks Professional" bike seat around here I bought as a teenager, to go with the Mavic Rims, Campi hubs and the Zeus seat stem etc. :rolleyes:

Yes, I have one of their cases for an Aldis too. It's unusual & nice to have one which bears not only the maker's ID but also the date. IIRC I think the last digit of the date is hand-stamped on my example.
Sold for NZ$1800 (roughly US$1100).
