Korean Surplus Ammo

Been reading about some guys not being able to find ammo, primers, powder and bullets for reloading.

Usual stuff we see around election and times of civil unrest.
I'm pretty well stocked up but happened across a new site to me while searching about something else.

So curiously asking if anyone has used any of the Korean Surplus ammo I found on this link below. Anyone know anything about it?
Shoot ok? Clean? Price seems stiff @ $0.37 per round... I just noticed the ad for the Korean says 100 grain (?) FMJ. 2 size crates: 2160 rds and 1080 rds all on 10 rd strips in bandoleers. No price break for buying 2160 rds over 1080 rds :nono:

I read somewhere that it is as good as USGI stuff. Not downloaded like Aguila. If I didn't have well over 1,000 rounds of Carbine ammo I would snag some, but most of my shooting is my Mini-14 (my M1 Carbine with a "stiffy".

I'm Curious as to what the head stamp is?
I have 7 0r 8 full bandoleers boxed away I think may have been Korean.
I'll try to dig them out in the next few days.

Charlie, some of the Korean ammo 120 rd (bandoleers) I bought from SG ammo was head stamped K1 1 80. The ammo I bought from them in the 1080 ammo can was head stamped PSD 85

It has shot great for me although I think it was JackP that reported he had some punctured primers on some of the PSD head stamped stuff.

This ammo is still available from SG Ammo at $388.80/1080 can plus $25 shipping.

Charlie, It's all ammo made originally for the Korean Military. When the Koreans went with the M16 and later their own rifle in 5.56, the carbine became a standard secondary weapon. This was so till the government had enough weapons for all troops and reserves. That is when the carbine was phased out and all the ammo is slowly being sold off. It's really excellent ammo and as good as USGI and it's made to US specs.

Thx for sharing the pics. Looks like a nice clean batch including the ammo can in great shape.
I started to dig out the loose bando's I have to check the head stamps. But once I opened the walk in doors remembered I had about +300lbs of once fired .357, .38spl, .45 ACP and .30 carbine brass, 100 count box of belt and stock pouches, bullet tips, primers etc that I'd bought from my ole friend JimF4M1's. He had packed it all so nice and neat I didn't want to mess with it. Got that down in the dumps kinda feeling. I miss him and haven't got to the point where I'd delete PM's and Emails from Jim or my little buddy Harlan.
IMO this forum lost 2 of the best when we lost those guys.

Right on Charlie, I feel the same way. All Jims emails are in my inbox, right where he left them. He is still in my friends and family on my PayPal account as well and that's where they'll always remain as long as I have the accounts
