With all the problems going on in this country today I thought this would be the best home protection pkg. ;)
You appear to have enough fireworks to celebrate the 4th in style. :beerchug::dancingbanana:
This is what I use on the 4th. :)
No grenades?
Iboos,
Did you ever pick up a real sling when I linked you to What A Country?
Your sling above isn't it....... Only issue I have with your home prep kit.
Enjoy the 4th,
Perhaps not the best but certainly not the worst. I would feel safe with that by my bedside.
I'd just post a picture of my ex-wife. Try and home invade her, please call me first. I wanna watch. From a safe distance.
In the current times what you say or may insinuate on Social Media can be held against you.
So, I don't do Mug Book or anything like it except Email and Forums. Never ever saying I'd do this or I'd do that.
Instead We have the perimeter posted.... :nono:
So if anything ever did happen, no one could say they weren't warned.
Security cameras are up and running thanks to my son.
Next, Maybe a PA system for those who might claim they can't read ??

Yeah, those aren't allowed around here. We'd be burned in effigy...
No Silhouette style targets allowed at any State owned gun ranges here.
Part and only part of why I stay with a private range.
Hi Painter777
Yea, that pic. was taken before I got them, I ordered two WW-2 slings [2/4/19] from 'What a country' that I got from you.
At that time they were $69.95 ea. I got mine and have put them on both my M-1's.
A friend of mine was looking for one for his carbine yesterday, I gave him the What a World add. they are now asking $74.95 ea. but are temp. out of stock.
I,m glad I got mine when I did, thank's again Painter.
Here's a pic. of the two slings I got from "What a Country," what's you think ?
Read through every contribution to this thread and even laughed a bit... You'll never find a sign or the slightest warning to trespassers or other folks with bad intentions towards my family, home, or other property... Me, I want it to be a surprise....
That's the same reason I never had any identifying bumper stickers etc on my vehicles (and not any police insignia either)... Doubt I'd give any warning either. Breaking Bad should have consequences in my view.
There are members of our society who view themselves as 'bone thug gangsters' who need to remember that they only exist because they are hiding behind protections that weren't intended for them and wouldn't be recognized in more volatile times.
I really like the M1 Carbine as a home defense carbine. I also like the Mini-14, an M1 Carbine with a stiffy! I think moving back into my neighborhood house, I will switch from the MIni-14 that I used living in the country, to the M1 Carbine loaded with Hornady Critical Defense ammo. Those rounds won't over penetrate as much as 5.56 will.

Here's the Zombie Wars rig I have. Now it is the 2009 stainless 581 Series Mini Ranch instead of the blued 186 series in the picture. I have well over 2,000 rounds of 5.56 ammo for the Mini-14 (actually it is stamped "Ruger Ranch Rifle") and my AR15.

I am well set for mags: I have (9) 30 rounders and (20) 15 rounders for the M1 Carbine, and (7) Ruger factory 30s, (9) Ruger factory 20s, a PMI 40 rounder, and a boatload of Tapco Gen II 30s for the Mini-14. Even though in Commiefornia, I accumulated pre-2000, during my LEO career, Freedom Week for magazines last year, and being retired LEO and exempt.
Some supplies for the Carbine. This is an older picture. Actually, now it is a Leather handled bayonet, and also have another 5 or 6 15 rounders. About 1,000 + rounds of assorted carbine ammo.

The guy and his wife trying to protect his home and family: I kept getting the feeling that the AR was a plastic toy. Both need a bit of training: don't put your hand over the muzzle and for the wife, finger off the trigger until you are very sure you will fire. Bless their hearts, it worked. I thought it was all going to begin right there, but the crowd chickened out. Next time buddy, have a bandoleer across the chest and mom, leave the pistol for pops. The truth about this matter will never hit the papers or TV.

Is there a link? I once ran off a carload of hairy scary thugs (planning on burgling my house) in the e middle of the night with my M1 Carbine. As they pulled in with lights out, I stepped out with the M1 Carbine and they decided to leave.
St Louis, IIRC, Both are Lawyers.
Mob/Protesters knocked down gated entry on their way to Mayors ??
Seen it on Fox.
Dbl H is correct, They need some training. Cringing watching her loop that pistol around!

I disagree, the scariest thing in this world is a really mad woman holding a hand gun and pointing it around, she was not there to teach a gun safety class, her and her husband were trying to stay alive and save their home from that bunch of terrorist, I don't think the terrorist left because of the husband and his AR, they left because they knew he's wife would shoot um, and none of them wanted to be the first to die. good job lady, she also had a good backup.
When you think of it, that couple had a perfect set up, the terrorist knew the husband would prob. be slow to fire....but, would empty the AR in a second if he thought his wife was in danger from the mob trying to rush her. even the dumbest terrorist think a little ahead, like if we rush the lady to take her gun, what will her husband do. :ugh:
Latest on that: County is considering pressing charges against the home owners for "threatening lethal force to peaceful protesters!". It ignores the fact that they crashed through a gate into private property! The inmates are running the asylum.....
What grinds my gears about this whole incident is the ridicule theyve received from all the home defence preppers and keyboard commandos for their choice of dress and alleged lack of training. All you have accomplished is give the anti gunners more leverage in their quest to take away your 2A right to keep and bear arms.
Speaking of training, how many of you reckon you've had enough training?
How many of you have been in their shoes and successfully faced down an angry mob that has just broken down a locked gate and swarmed your property openly threatening to kill you and loot, pillage and burn down your home?
From what I've seen this couple was caught completely off guard and responded as best they could in the time they had.
If you've never been in this sort of situation dont be so quick to condemn and ridicule. Truth is, until you have walked a mile in their shoes, you cant honestly say how you would respond.
They were barefoot... ;)
Their dog was threatened... People have been shot for less.
I'd say they were prepared enough and backed the mob away from their home.
Hat off to them !
He is a Defense Attorney and knows how his 2nd rights work.
I believe the mob was on their way farther in to the neighborhood, possibly to the Mayors (?) but happened upon this couple first.
So, On their own these people ended up defending the whole neighborhood.
There will be more like this to come.
Be safe all.
CH-P777
Yep, they made it to the Mayor's house.

I like the M1 Carbine/Colt 1911 combo. Great choice and a perfect fit for our bunch!
In and out of uniform, over a 22 year career in police work I had occasion to point a sidearm at quite a few folks when necessary... Ordinary types paid attention - street rats might pay attention but too many of the ones I ran into paid little, if any, attention to a handgun pointed their way (it was a different story when I had a shotgun in hand - but that's another story...). On those same scenes though if one of our female officers pointed a gun at them - the bad guy not only paid attention but usually was downright terrified... since in the world they come from a woman with a gun -is probably going to use it... At least that's what I actually saw on more than one occasion....
I'm no gunfighter - in 22 years I fired only one shot (then spent six months in and out of court until it was ruled justified... and it took a few years before I got myself sorted out over it...). My sympathies to those folks in Missouri - they're between a rock and a hard place with a really nice house and no one in authority willing to defend them locally.... Very bad situation and I'm betting they'll not be able to defend it a second time...
I reckon if I absolutely had to choose just one gun for HD it would be a shotgun. Probably because that's what I had coming up and have more time behind the trigger that anything else, that and an semi auto .22 rifle.
Another personal defense strategy in the current environment might be to simply hurl a history book at the approaching hoard. No doubt the vast majority would flee in horror.
It's time to lay in the Final Protective Fire Lines and record them on the range card.
When you really think about it an '03 and one of those 5 foot long bayonets would really deter that mob of fools. During the Korean war an army Captain cleared off a mountain top of Chinese just by saying "Fix bayonets" The bayonet was feared by everyone from the revolutionary war to WW2. When they went to a little baby knife and called it a bayonet, nobody cared. In the war, I used mine to open cases of Crats. Those big honking blades on a 10lb wood and steel club, gets their attention.
I don't think that anyone was trying to belittle or make fun of the couple. I've never seen anything like what we are living in in 75 years. I received a letter from the CEO of my credit union the other day. He was apologizing for having "White Privilege" . Ask a plumber in Lodi if he has white privilege. Cities kicking the police out of town, shopping malls being looted and then burned down just for fun. I think that if this keeps up the "Running Dogs" are going to stop it themselves. Nobody else seems to care.
Prayers and preparation in equal measures.
Many Americans from the turn of the century helped build America at a time when they couldn't afford shoes. Other groups of near peasants didn't come here until the early 1900s and were hated by some groups already in America (but more importantly were hated by old world grudges that came with them to America). My point is the people who built the nation were poor and only did it with determination, at least until the 1950s. The majority of groups were not working together as a cohesive unit with one common purpose. They each had a personal interest of advancement and that benefited the collective. Now since WWII the rest of the world was destroyed and looted, at which time the USA took advantage of the situation to increase our standing. Now that there's no domestic production, advancements were done with debt. We're at the end of that cycle now and some of the groups seek to scapegoat and take advantage through plunder. America will quite possibly remind you of 1920s Germany before it's done.
When citizens are selling their children to pay foreigners for a week or month of survival, it'll look like that. Hopefully we don't experience a hyper-inflation like that.
I believe SWMBO will have some words about the burn and scratch marks on her floor from the Vickers tripod feet and hot cases.
