Leaping over the top looks cool but stupid especially if you can exit through the back door under the protection of the armor plating. They make nice pop-up targets to shoot at.

Do those front tires look to be mounted on backwards?

Great for a photo op. If I did that today, I'd be located right where I hit the ground. My knees would explode like a claymore.

Nope, going forward they will have maximum gripping action with that tread pattern, I used to 4 wheel with my Jeep and used Mickey Thompson Claw's that were similar pattern.

Everybody disembarks at the same time, no waiting for doors to open. Much faster.

Jim-- I am with you on that one! It's a *itch to get old!!. Everyone keeps telling these are your "golden" years. The only thing "golden" in my "Golden" years is the color of the pee running down my leg. LOL!

To be fair, I surmise your service coincided with the era of bad issue boots.

Not really, I'm now 63 and was infantry for 35 years...too much campin' in the snow.

I try to reverse my numbers to be 36 again but fail admirably in not being able to do what I once did, my knee's sound like grindstones when I climb stairs so much so my wife refuses to be anywhere near me when ascending or descending the treads. Comes from non stop 1969 - 1983 all year round summer & winter comps playing basket ball but hell I was super fit back then.
