"C" stock value, and something extra....

Recently got these two stocks. One is an O3 stock but the other one is a "C" stock I believe and, perhaps a Springfield Armory produced one? I've been told the C stocks are hard to come by and, valueable... true?

"C" stocks make shooting more comfortable. WRT the gunbroker stock looks like auction fever to me. I bought my 1903 with a "C" stock last year from the CMP for about what the stock in question sold for.

pre WW2 "C" stocks will have a drawing number on the bottom just behind the pistol grip. most have a cartouche

RCS... I Don't find a number like that on my stock. So what does the "S" mean? And one of my pictures? And how would you value a stock like this? I have the handguard as well.

The reason that stock sold for so much is because its a 1903a4 stock. The seller doesn't look like he knew that, but apparently a couple bidders did.

A pre-war C stock like yours could still be worth a few hundred dollars.

Dupage was getting $250 per set (luck of draw on what you'd get)

The cutout for the bolt handle. Of course any bubba could make a cutout for a replica 1903a4, but original a4 stocks have a very unique and specific cutout. Here's a picture of an original. Note the round cut and the top corner square cuts. The same cut is on the gunbroker stock you linked.

Only the "C" stocks produced in the late '30s will have the drawing number. Springfield started producing the "C" stock in 1929.

As well as the "C" stocks the later profile 1903 hand guards also had a drawing numberAttachment 112211Attachment 112210Attachment 112212

non of these 2 stocks pictured were A4 stocks.. one is a grasping groove stock. the other is a pre war C stock, the pre war C stock is a hot item.. those building a USMC sniper rifle want them, the cuts you see are on the left side, to clear the cut off switch.. the grasping groove stock is also a rare item today.. the auction tagged was for a NOS, A4 stock.. sold for about 200 more then it should have,, auctions arent a good way to gage value of your stuff... that same stock a few weeks ago may have sold for 200 bucks.. put a fair price on your items., and be fair. or list them on auction and hope for the best

I've owned a 1909A3 for some time that needed restocking so, I bought a C stock from CMP and had a stock maker here in town install it. From what I've been told they are Boyds and hadn't heard much good about this manufacturer. Very happy with results.
