I recently obtained an AJ Parker Twin Zero M/80 rear sight in its original box in the original wrap. Unfortunately I was unable to identify for which rifle the mounting adapter is meant for. Can anyone help me with that?
Edit: of course AJ Parker and not Parker-Hale...

Oh, so mine is without the rifle adapter? I was under the impression the two screws displayed are already to be mounted to a certain rifle. That might answer the question as well..

Promo, Alan de Enfield is demonstrating British understatement. One can see in your photo that the sight is marked Alfred J. Parker!
And as it also says on the box, it is adaptable for various rifles - if you have the correct adapter - "which in your case you have not got".
Nevertheless, it's a fine specimen, and it would be worthwhile making an adapter to suit the rifle on which you wish to mount it.

I did mix up AJ Parker and Parker Hale, sorry for the confusion - and thanks for answering my question! I got it fairly reasonably priced, hence it doesn't matter this much it came without a rifle adapter. I was mainly attracted by the fact it came with the original box.

I've had a look thru my 'assorted box of bits' and have 6 brackets for the M80 sight.
3 different types.
Just to confirm I've got the correct ones - the fixing holes centre to centre spacing look to be 19mm (3/4")
If interested make me an offer for any number (1 to 6) If you are not interested, no problem at least you now know what you are looking for.
Given my rifle family best would be something to fit to a P.14 rifle, if either of them is that?

Reference Allan's 1st picture - 1200TX, commercial Mauser, Parker Hale M82 with scope base. All for Parker Hale 5B modified or 5E sights only.
It's a bit surprising that there was no(?) target sight for the Patt.14 that did not require drilling across the rear sight protectors, considering that the backsight axis screw is not that far away and its hole already goes through the left side of the sight protector.
Without getting one out to look, I presume it was a problem of clearing the sight ears while keeping the sight body close enough to the bore axis that there was enough travel on the windage bar.

Parker Hale 5b and the AJ Parker 53 are a no drill mount. They fix to the receiver with a longer axix screw and replacement of the bolt stop spring perch. "Rock solid" - at least on my P14 and Model 17

Promo - your have an AJ Parker sight that with the correct base would mount on a Mauser or Schultz& Larson. I've got a base or 2 here if you need one.

My mistake; it had been so long since I looked I thought they were both drilled, and the upper was clearly drilled for something else.

The iris eyepiece is not marked by the way, other than an assembly number.

Showing two of the five filters (Yellow & Blue) and Iris almost closed and 75% open.
There's something familiar about that setup, perhaps I have another around. Looking through it again the other day it was somewhat amusing to note that unless the mounting tube was cut considerably shorter the iris only began to actually change the FoV at close to the narrowest position. Or in other words, the aperture created by the length and ID of the tube was smaller than that created by the iris until the later was almost at its narrowest setting.
Though on second thought, that would be dependant on eye distance from the iris and the widest setting seems to match the tube ID when the eye is about 4 inches from the iris. Better try that in the prone position again before taking this any further!
