I'd love to examine those at close up...
About 3/4 of a million M16 rifles were left there. Not to mention all of the other military aid to the French and South Vietnamese Government before the Americans got on board.
I'll bet the Sgt Mgr of the Army didn't get to berate the SecDev for losing all those rifles......
This might verge on politics, but 'left behind' is a very relative term. Consider what was actually owned by or donated/given to the previous government in that country - choose your country - and what was really 'left behind' by another country's departing military.
