Just picked this rifle up today with a barrel date of 12-31 and serial number of 1446308. Bolt is electropenciled to match, polished and so are receiver rails and follower. Type C stock with serial number and D#. Pictures show all markings.... If anybody can help me with loading of pictures or can send them to someone to install here it would be great...

I saw the pics of it on the gunboards forum. I am sorry to say it is not a Marine rifle. The NM rifle traits also look suspect. :(

Not a bad rifle to throw a reproduction scope on and go shooting. What was the cost of it? Might be worth keeping.
Was priced like a real marine sniper rifle so back it goes...

I concur with cplstevennorton. The rifle exhibits no characteristics of a USMC rifle and no authentic characteristics of a USMC sniper rifle. The rifle may be a National Match rifle, but not entirely original if so.

I cannot recall ever having seen a front base with such a deep recess.
nice rifle, but i would say, built up. by someone other then the Military, star gauge is very suspect. wood finish doesnt look right.
