This almost looks photo shopped but are these 50 BMG's a special order for the Navy as they look huge at first I thought they were 20mm's ?
Where they have them also will not allow much if any depression or combing of the target one would have thought they'd plant them where they had an excellent field of fire.
And just one other point why ammo feeds does the 50 tend to jam without them as if your in a hurry to reload having a feed rail would require fiddling about a bit would it not !
My experience with the Browning M2 was limited to our unit's D.A.R.E.O.D. (Damaged Airfield Reconnaissance/Explosive Ordnance Disposal) M113 which had a turret mounted M2 and C6 (M240). The M2 fed just fine from the ammo can sans feed ramp since the cycling power generated by the round is tremendous. Interesting that there is a 25mm Bushmaster right next to the dual M2 mount.
Different tasks, completely different ammo. The feed chutes are easy to navigate once you've done it a couple of times and there's a TON of ammo in those boxes at 550 RPM. With vehicles that have the ammo box close at hand and just one belt, the feed is fine but a super belt like this is heavy and comes from below so the cutes are nice. If there were a need for close work, they also have small arms on hand to repel borders. No problems there...C7, C8, C6, C9.Quote:
