Not sure if that's the shell case at 14:00 just to the Rt of the front sight (Or pic error) who ever they are slinging lead at is up high, possibly sniper!!!
That line unless there are vehicles out of sight on the left it would make a bit of a juicy target for an MG 42 operator.

I don't think the North Koreans or Chinese used the MG42 much, if at all.

On the other hand a friend of mine...long gone now, told me he DID see mostly Japanese weapons while he was there. I thought that was interesting.

No, that's OK. The pic of the M2 is hard to find and usually not a clearly an M2. This one's unmistakable and shows the 30rd mag isn't even a concern. I never liked them either. The 15's were always perfect.

Please tell us Garand guys how you know it's an M2.

Fire sector on left side at the rear of the receiver ring. It's plainly visible in this photo.

Really? You can see the selector and see it's set to single. When on auto it's down lower and forward. The stock is thin from my perception so this could be an arsenal overhaul with all the changes made like type three sight and type three bayonet band. This was what all of them were supposed to look like but very many never did get changed. Many we saw released for sale here in the '70s had flat bolts, "I" cut stocks, flip sights and so on from the beginning. Just a neat pic...

The selector switch is the only clearly visible feature that distinguishes the M2 from the M1, and once you know that the identification is easy.

Looks to me like a bird was sitting on that wire and in the act of flying off as the pic was taken.
