I have had one for several years it is an 1893, which was converted in 1931 to 8mm fairly accurate better than the Mosin Nagants I own. I do not see much on these you tube got a few videos, not much mention here. So any of you others have one of these hidden unspoken of gems.
By all means post some pictures of your hidden gem and we'll certainly speak of it. I myself haven't been lucky of diligent enough to find one but I admire them. Here's 10 years after:

Yep, most of use got a few of the $59 specials in 8mm back in the day.

I have been searching for a 7mm for a long time with no luck as most were converted. Passed on a few of the 8mm, not that I dislike them, I just want an original caliber, collecting quirk. I have a Turk 1940 Kale in 8mm.
It will be a long search as the Turks never used 7mm .

7mm is not 7.65mm . I have many Turk Mausers [ around 40 ] , all the variants . One of my 1890's and one of my 1893's are in 7.65 mm . I have none in 7mm . So I kind of know about them .
Yeah, so do I, I just threw out the 7mm conversationally as this is a casual discussion and I was noting the rarity of the original caliber. 8mm isn't 8mm either, it's 7.92x55.

Wrong again . The German term is 7.92x57 mm , 57 . Commonly known as 8x57mm in the US .

Have you figured out what motor is in your truck yet ?
Count me as one that was confused about the 7mm. So, I'm glad it got corrected, FWIW. I only spent about 10 minutes trying to research the other before waiting for clarification.
7.65mm in an Argentine is one of my favorites. I'd love for that to have been the common Turkish one now, too.

Wrong again . The Oxford dictionary states a motor is a machine that supplies motive power for vehicles , the terms engine and motor are used interchangeably now . If you look it up your truck uses Motor oil . The Ukraine is way past your level of understanding .
LOL, Not wrong again. A motor is powered by electricity, an engine is combustion powered. They may be used interchangeably in your world but not mine. In any case, it has nothing to do with anything but you ****ing all over yourself so be my guest.
