is this NOT one of the Turkish? guns that was reworked from mauser and enfield parts?
No, it's not one of the Turk "enfauser" hybrids. This is a modified Hungarian FEG 35M made to German specs, known as the G98/40.
The Hungarians also adapted a slightly modified version known as the 43M.

Kind of a neat looking rifle actually. Nice shape...too much coin though for me.
I've owned a couple of those over the years, including one which was serial number 1...... Nice rifles. Sort of an odd mix of styles especially the two piece stock. Nice cock on closing bolt which is familiar to us Lee Enfield fans. Accurate too, and certainly not a common piece. This example is too much money though, and they were never made by Walther.
