1903 Remington O3A3
This is my Remington O3A3, I also just picked up a 1903 Springfield Mark 1. These are my favorite military rifle mostly because my first bolt action hunting rifle was a Rock Island that had been partially sporterized. This was in 1972, I found a semi finished maple stock which I completed myself. I was able to have the barrel crowned, the bolt altered for scope use and drilled and taped for scope mounts at my high school machine shop class. It was a different time back then.

I also remember bringing in a Cooey 22 to high school machine shop and refinishing the all the parts and stock. We were given marks for anything we restored on the side. Our shop teacher was a big outdoors man, who hand made trout nets (amongst other projects) in class with a custom wood steamer. Trades classes kept many of us coming to school. The .22 is still in regular use,now with my nephew and his boys on their farm.
