Post-War Czech k98 or Not ...

Hi all,
I picked up a k98 recently. It is a dou 44, and while it has parts with correct waffenamts, it also has a serial number (matching gun) with an uppercase suffix (S) ... but, no lion stamps ... :confused:

I understand the Czech factories began to apply uppercase suffixes post-war, but I understood they also began applying the lion stamp at the same time; this one falls between, unless I am missing something.

I have attached pictures of the relevant markings. Thoughts? Is it WWII-era or post-war? If you need additional information, let me know, and I'll edit this post.

Is the trigger guard stamped steel and enlarged?
Could you post a pic of the whole rifle?

It does not have the winter trigger. In further reading, the dot marked guns had lowercase suffixes; but, I have seen some photos of R and T-block dou guns (on either side of mine), and they were uppercase. Here is a link to the photo gallery:

A very late 1944. Lots of odd rifles show up in that time frame. I would guess a war gun.
