I agree, it would be nice if it could be resurrected.
I ended up buying that one. That rifle is actually what lead me to this site. I plan on restoring it, but am a bit of a loss on what to do with the stock. I want to keep the original stock but it has been seriously altered both on the butt end and it's chopped on the front. I believe that Altadiver had posted a few years ago about making reproduction barrel bands and nose caps, but I've yet to follow up on that. I'm going to pick it up at the end of the month and I'll reevaluate then. There is a shop up near FT Worth that I may see if they can make a splice for the chopped forend and clean up the splice on the rear. Again, not 100% sure on my course of action.

I've been looking at those pics for a bit of reference. I dont want to end up spending time and effort into accidentally mis matching the different variations of the rifle. I'm not really anticipating finding the MK1* handguard and will probably have to end up trying to to get one made as my woodworking skills are nearly nonexistant (Not enough time spent whittling as a kid)

Can you post the auction pictures?

1905 MK2 *** looks like a one piece hand guard.
Honestly, that would be better for a shooting perspective, from what i understand the MK2 had a better bolt and reinforced receiver. Though to be perfectly honest I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the one piece top handguard. Then again I havent so much as handled a Ross and a few Forgotten Weapons videos and some forum snooping hardly qualifies me as an expert.
