Hi
Have a P14 which has a stock disk with a brass plate over the top stamped with
"SAU-CIE.002.
5865"
Serial number 625813 made by ERA.
Does any one know what the brass plate is for and date of manufacture.

It’s a Dutch East Indies rack number.
Thanks for the info

Well my information was that the CIE stands for Companie. I.e. they were given to the French in WW2 and later passed on by the French to the North African colonies. No-one now seems to know what the SAU stands for.
Anyway, I saw several and tried a couple in my (now abandoned) search for an affordable P14. They were ALL rubbish shooters, totally clapped out after being passed through several sets of uncaring hands. I gave up and bought an excellent M1917 instead!
