Today I thought I noticed a crack in the receiver. See image.
I guess it is a cosmetic error occurred during the milling process, in which the curve was not completely rounded (finished).
How does your receiver look like?

Can you find a machine shop and get the receiver Magnafluxed? That will tell all.
I have 130xxx and 769xxx rifles. Both show similar marks at the rear and the 769xxx has it at the front.
My 205XXX Eddystone is similar...cleaner machined maybe and the 'crack' is a machined 'step' I believe where the flat part transitions into the curve

If you blow metal up it can look awful.
I had a luger that looked like it was cracked in a picture. It was not but amazing how it stood out.
You don't even want to look at your barrel with a boro scope.
If the cutting edge of a milling cutter gets chipped or damaged through use, or for any other reason, even if the damage is small or slight and the cutter continues to be used, then the area of damage on the cutter will show up on the material being cut.
A worn/damaged milling cutter is not always replaced immediately by the machinist.
