Like most paperwork, if it has a tick in the box everyone is happy.

When driving past BAE Systems Samlesbury site in Lancashire, yesterday, I noticed that they now have a F35 aircraft set up as a gate guardian next to a very tidy looking English Electric Lightning fighter. I assume that the F35 is a mock up or replica considering how much the actual real thing costs. I didn't see the English Electric Canberra which also use to enhance the view of this site for passers by, some time ago.
I know the Hawker Hunter in the attached pictures is not a gate guardian but it still makes an interesting site and helps relieve the misery of being stuck in traffic on the A40 out of London.

both of the Lightning's are fibreglass aparently
The "original" 1950s Lightning is very realistic for a fibreglass replica, it fooled me, when driving past recently.
