like this _-_-_
Thanks. That's cute. I just found my clips and I knew how to load them at one time but my memory is what I use to forget with.
Help me with this mates. I've read and seen this staggering pattern, but when I've tried it, a number of times the "second to next rim" was forward of the "first/top/next to be charged rim," causing a jam when the bolt is rammed home as the top cartridge tries to take the one below it along.
I've had no problem when hand loading without the charger clips, or, when using the charger clip to be sure the topmost rim is forward of the cartridge below it.
I must be overlooking something or doing something wrong. Please enlighten me!
first one against the charger,- sec. one ahead-, third one behind the sec. one,- fourth one ahead of the third,- fifth one against the charger behind the fourth one . hope that helps thats how i load my chargers.

you do not have to stagger the cartridges on the p-14 as the magazine only holds 5 rounds. the staggering is when you load 10 rounds into a mag on a british made rifle #1 mk3 or a #4 mk1 etc. i stagger on my #1 mk3 and do not stagger on my p-14
When you push the last of the cartridges charger in (Mk III & No.'s 4 & 5's) for the 10 rounds a little trick is as you feel the last round leave the charger and start to enter the mag whilst it is still sitting on the 9th round ever so slightly move your thumb forward a smidge whilst maintaining pressure on the 10th cartridge and push into the mag it takes a bit of practice but you will get the feel by having a dummy set up of 2 clips and just practice it surely stops rim overs which costs valuable time to sort out in a speed shoot never ever have I had it happen to me Ho Ho.... it would have cost a few lives in the heat of battle no doubt.
Another thing is do not waste time flicking the 2nd empty charger clip out with your fingers just close the bolt rather rapidly and it will knock it out of the way, I have also seen rounds staggered in the clips thus ///// and not _-_-_ they did not seem to have any feeding issues.
Good news is our range may be cleared as FFU at the end of April after some 16-18 months closure so can start slinging lead again in earnest after a forced layoff......:clap::clap::beerchug:
Thanks Cinders, had not realized this little movement could make such a difference. Right on.
Actually this is what I did to cure the feed jam problem and it worked perfectly, despite being non-spec. (A little variance from Standard Operating Procedure :beerchug: )
Thanks for the tips.
