I see people on GB all the time mistaking Sten mags for M3 mags. They look very similar, until you see them side by side.

Stemple converts the S&W 76 and copies (9mm) into Stemple 45's quite a bit. I think they use M3 mags for the conversion, but not 100% sure. Don't have one in front of me at the moment.
As mentioned when referring to Thompson mags, I would think making a copy of the Sterling mag follower would NOT be that hard and they should work just right in a Thompson double feed mag, not so much in the M3 Grease gun mag.

Are you referring to the roller follower? They have tapered rollers sitting at an angle to the feed, then the follower is at an angle to the spring guide...good luck capturing all that. I have never had any trouble with Thompson mags as they are, matter of fact no problems with grease gun mags either.
Yeah, the real grease gun mags work fine, as long as they are clean. The Cobray .45 ACP magazines can have feeding issues. After a while the presentation angle becomes too high and they need a little tweaking.
