I started watching the Netflix show The Liberator last night. I had really low expectations but I was presently surprised at how well it is done. I'm enjoying it.

Is it a cartoon?
I watched the trailer and wanted to know more. After viewing the trailer, I saw the link to Alex Kershaw's (the author) 39 minute presentation outlining the events behind the story.
I had a close relative who landed at Normandy with the D-Day Invasion at age 18. I have several of his letters that were written to my folks. His outfit was 8 miles inside Germany on 12-8-44, and I know he had experiences that affected him for the rest of his life.
Some of the pictures in the video I just watched are hard to look at, but the bravery, service, and sacrifices these men made for our country and the rest of the world needs to be recognized by more of our educators and young people today. - Bob

Wow thanks for the link! That’s quite a story
I must admit, I saw it, thought 'might be good' (tempering my expectations by the strange Netflix mix of excellence and appalling), I saw it was animated and stopped....
I shall try again....
Got ten minutes in.............found it visually quite hard to watch. Think the pupil see's etchings over original filmed characters and it was that doubling that initially is hard to absorb, and with my long range shooters eyes anyway, not easy.
Great story and one I was looking forward to watching, but you do expect the cartoon to turn into reality at any minute but it was not to be and its not stated its a cartoon, probably as the word is associated with fun and childrens stuff!!
Yeah, I won't be watching it in all likelihood. The animation is a serious turn off. Difficult for me to watch. I couldn't even make it through the entire trailer.
