After having to do some remedial work to to the mount I was able to fit my IWS to the L1A1 this afternoon
Weighs a ton when fitted and head position is awful!
Looks quite something though

I used the Canadian version enough times to know I didn't want one on issue. They were top heavy and cumbersome...but if you had one that worked and was zeroed it could do it's job passably. The problem was always a cheekweld to stock. You needed your combat jacket over the butt to give you support nearly.
Yours looks gorgeous by the way...
When you consider that was our best option in the Falklands War, it leaves you agast at the poor old squaddie once again carrying that at 2.9 Kgs and everything else with a 6.75 volt battery which only lasted 70 hours, when they could have easily bought in smaller tubes to do the job!!
Still a good piece of kit to have when there's nothing else available!!
Very nice set up, looks great!
Did you notice the IWS is an 'XL' trials version dated 1969
A very collectable piece of kit on a beautiful L1!
