Is it a SG or a S'G' ?
Plain ole SG...........
Whoops: Took another look; had to knock off rear sight; its a
Saginaw S'G'
It has an Inland barrel dated 1-44, 1 or less bore. It it possible this is a correct barrel for the rcvr date?
If it was made by Saginaw S'G' then the answer would be no the barrel is not correct as S'G' ended production in December 43 so a 1-44 barrel would be too late.
I have S'G' s/n 3242575 with a 7-44 Inland barrel and have always figured it might have been put together in '44 with receivers that were left over. Since mine is an earlier s/n than the OP's, what date barrel would be approximately correct for it? - maybe fall of '43? - Thanks, Bob
I think it might be more closer to summertime. Maybe a 8/43 barrel, possibly an Underwood barrel.

Bruce, thanks for feedback, even if you did ruin my day! Was hoping the barrel might be ok and if it were I'd put that gun in my "keeper" rack.
Apologies to ulflyer for trying to "hitch on" to this thread. These s/n's and dates are just so confusing. I have S'G's from both blocks and it seems there must be quite a bit of overlap even though they are referred to as early and late s/n blocks. I have #3243xxx and it has an 8-43 Underwood barrel, as does my #1829xxx. Your answer is probably spot on. Thanks - Bob
