WW2 Lice Comb
I am struggling to read what exactly is written on this WW2 German lice comb which I assume to be the maker, rather than the original owner. I've got the "Hamburg" part of it but the first two words are a struggle to see and even photograph.
For the first word I have come up with possibilities such as "Nord" to "Dow", to a multitude of other variations.
Any help would be appreciated, please.

Add some white chalk to clarify the letters.

Celluloid burns awfully well, and so did Hamburg; must have left earlier.

It's
New-York-Hamburg 6.W.Co.(?)M.S.No.10
No. as abbreviation for Number is an English usage.
So what is supposed to indicate that it's German?

There are numerous other references for "G. W. Co." for bakelite match cases etc., but no ID of the company that I can see in a few moments looking. Probably a German company with offices in New York as well as Hamburg. Given the huge marine traffic between the two ports before WWI, not surprising; might even be things sold on board ships. Looks like you got plenty of "DNA" there if you'd like to send some in to Ancestry! ;)
